Freight forwarding & contract logistics

Global freight, run by people who answer the phone.

IGS moves air, ocean, road and rail freight, clears it through customs and stores it — on one shipment record, with one account team, and one number to call when a vessel rolls.

Capabilities

Every mode, on one shipment record.

Most supply chains break at the handover — between the forwarder and the haulier, the warehouse and the broker. We run the modes ourselves so the handovers are ours to get right.

Air freight

Consolidated and direct air services on scheduled and charter capacity, booked against allocation rather than spot rates so the space is there when the market tightens.

FCL, LCL and everything awkward in between

Ocean freight

Full and part container loads on contracted carrier space, with weekly LCL consolidations out of the main UK and European gateways and buyer's consolidation at origin.

Road & rail

Domestic and cross-border road freight across the UK and Europe, with rail used on the lanes where it genuinely beats road on cost and carbon rather than as a talking point.

Storage, handling and fulfilment

Contract logistics

Shared-user and dedicated warehousing with pick, pack, kitting and returns handling, run on our WMS and reported against the same service levels every week.

How we work

Small enough that you know who is handling it.

We work from Glasgow and buy carrier space and origin handling through established partners rather than pretending to own a terminal in every port. It is the normal way a forwarder of our size operates, and it is what keeps the routing decision about your cargo rather than about filling our own assets.

Every account gets a named operator and a named manager. You will deal with the same two people whether it is a routine booking or a container sitting in a customs hold.

How an account starts

  1. 01

    Scope and survey

We map the lanes, volumes, cargo characteristics and the service levels you are actually judged on before quoting anything.

  2. 02

    Solution and rates

A written proposal with mode, routing, transit, and a rate card that separates freight, surcharges and duty so you can see what moves with the market.

  3. 03

    Implementation

Systems integration, SOP sign-off and a phased cutover with the incumbent still running until the new lanes prove out.

  4. 04

    Run and review

Named account team, weekly operational reporting and a quarterly review that looks at cost, service and where the plan needs changing.

Sectors

Cargo that carries consequences.

Some freight is forgiving. Most of what we handle is not — it is temperature-bound, time-bound, oversized, or holds up a production line if it stops.

Healthcare & life sciences

Temperature-controlled storage and distribution with monitored cold chain and a full audit trail from collection to delivery. Tell us the temperature range and the documentation your market requires and we will confirm what we can support.

Industrial & project cargo

Out-of-gauge and heavy-lift movements — route surveys, lifting plans, permits and escorts handled as one scope rather than farmed out piecemeal.

Retail & e-commerce

Peak-season capacity planned months ahead, origin consolidation to cut container count, and fulfilment that survives a Black Friday without a recovery plan.

Automotive & aerospace

Inbound-to-line sequencing, AOG and production-critical movements, and the documentation discipline both sectors audit you on.

Food & beverage

Ambient, chilled and frozen handling with date-code rotation, plus the health certification and border control paperwork that goes with it.

Energy & renewables

Component logistics for wind, solar and grid infrastructure, including port storage, pre-assembly space and site-delivery sequencing.

Visibility

You should not have to ring us to find out where it is.

Our operations desk works from the same shipment record you see. When something slips, you hear it from us with the recovery option already attached — which is the only version of visibility that is worth anything.

One record per shipment
Every booking, document, milestone and cost sits on a single record. No reconciling a spreadsheet against three carrier portals to find out where something is.
Milestone tracking and alerts
Automatic status against the plan, with exceptions pushed to you when a vessel rolls or a flight is offloaded — not discovered when the delivery fails to arrive.
Customs and documentation
Declarations, certificates of origin and dangerous goods paperwork raised and filed against the shipment record, retained for the statutory period.
Reporting you can act on
Landed cost, lane performance, carrier reliability and CO₂e per shipment, exportable and scheduled to whoever needs it.
